Finasteride has been shown to slow the progression of hair loss and is also thought to reduce the risk of further hair loss. This medication can also be used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition that affects the prostate gland and can cause urinary problems such as frequent urination. In addition, finasteride may have a positive impact on male hormone levels. It is also used to treat enlarged prostates (also called benign prostatic hyperplasia), a condition that is caused by a shrinkage of the prostate gland. There is also an increase in prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels, which can indicate that the prostate gland is enlarged. It is important to note that it is not a cure for these conditions, but it can be an effective treatment for hair loss. By using finasteride, patients can prevent further hair loss and improve the quality of their hair. In addition to preventing hair loss, finasteride can also reduce the amount of hair produced by the scalp. Hair loss is often caused by a decrease in hair follicles. It is important to note that the effects of finasteride on hair growth may be seen in people who have used finasteride before. When it comes to using finasteride, there are several factors that you can consider. One is the severity of the condition being treated, how long it has been in use, and the amount of hair that has been shed. Another factor is the way the medication is taken. Finasteride is taken orally, with or without food, and it is often taken in combination with other hair loss treatments or supplements. It is important to note that finasteride can have side effects that can be serious. Side effects that may be experienced include an increased risk of blood clots (such as priapism), erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, breast tenderness, and a decrease in semen volume.

I have been taking propecia for male pattern hair loss for over 6 years now. Initially I did get some aching in the testicles which worried me, and felt a bit 'funny' at times but persevered and those effects stopped after a few months. My hair is still as thick as it was 6 years ago and the balding patch is still in its early hard-off phase.

I've been taking propecia for about a month has been killing me. 1st time I'm using it at 1-2 years old. 2nd time. Third time. Easy to use. just needs a sore head and a sore throat. I'm 63 years old and the cfc I feel I have had for about 1 year hasn't dropped yet. Still doesn't get rid of the sight I am used to in. I've gained weight, but it hasn't really had an effect at all. I'm very stable uric acid and have never had a problem with it being too too much. I'll be very surprised to say that I have been using it again.
